OUR STORY

John and Anna met online at E-harmony and had their first date at a restaurant in El Paso. Anna realized right away that John was a gentleman, and a very good listener. John found Anna very interesting and beautiful.

Together they have enjoyed trips to John's family in New Jersey and to New York City. They like running and reading together. John has introduced Anna to knitting and science fiction books.  Anna has introduced John to New Mexico and he is a wonderful volunteer for her non-profit. This spring, John took Anna to West Point, his alma matter. They also enjoy spending time with Anna's family in Las Cruces

Anna works for the Asombro Institute for Science Education, a non-profit that does hands-on science with students of all ages. John proposed to Anna during their benefit dinner this past September.

We are very happy about the upcoming wedding and sharing the day with all of you. John just started a new job in New York City, and after the wedding Anna will be moving out to join him. They will be living in Morristown, NJ.

White Sands National Monument
(575) 479-6124

Rising from the heart of the Tularosa Basin is one of the world's great natural wonders - the glistening white sands of New Mexico. Great wave-like dunes of gypsum sand have engulfed 275 square miles of desert, creating the world's largest gypsum dunefield. White Sands National Monument preserves a major portion of this unique dunefield, along with the plants and animals that live here. The visitor’s center has a gift shop, movie about the area, and a museum. We suggest going early in the morning and taking water, hats, sunscreen and sunglasses. The white sand can seem very glaring in the middle of the day. The movie has gorgeous photography, interesting information, and is in an air-conditioned room—a great place to rest after seeing the dunes!

Directions From Las Cruces, NMDrive time: About 1 hour
Head east on Highway US-70 towards Alamogordo. The visitor center is located about 52 miles northeast of Las Cruces on the northwest side (left-hand side) of the road, one mile past the Border Patrol station.

Special Note on Missile Closures: Due to missile testing on the adjacent White Sands Missile Range, it is occasionally necessary—for visitor safety—to close the road into the monument for periods of up to three hours. U.S. Highway 70/82 between Alamogordo and Las Cruces is also closed during times of missile testing. Visitors on a tight schedule are encouraged to call the day prior to arrival to confirm hours of operation.  (575) 479-6124
